  • >> Jimmy: YOU LOOK FANTASTIC. >> THANK YOU. >> Jimmy: MAY I SEE YOUR HANDS? YOUR OTHER PARTS? YOU DON'T LIKE TO BE TOUCHED AT ALL ON THE HAND? >> NO, I DO LIKE TO BE TOUCHED, IT'S JUST -- >> Jimmy: BY ME? >> IT'S YOU. IT'S JUST YOU. >> Jimmy: IT'S ME, YEAH. >> NO, I'M ACUTELY AWARE OF THE RIDGES IN FINGERTIPS. AND I CAN DO IT -- LET'S DO IT. I CAN DO IT WHEN THEY'RE DRY. >> Jimmy: IF YOU'RE INITIATING IT'S BETTER? >> YES. I FEEL MORE IN CONTROL. >> Jimmy: OKAY. >> DOES ANYONE EVEN KNOW WHAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT? IF THESE WERE WET, THAT'S A NONSTARTER. >> Jimmy: THIS IS THE REASON I MENTION THIS AND WHY I WANTED TO SEE IF YOUR FINGERS WERE AT ALL WRI WRINKLY. THE LAST TIME YOUR HUSBAND DAK SHEPHERD WAS HERE, HE TALKED ABOUT THIS PHOBIA. IS IT PROPER TO CALL IT A PHOBIA? >> I WOULD CALL IT A VERY SERIOUS, UNDIAGNOSED AND YET TO BE DISCOVERED MEDICAL CONDITION. [ LAUGHTER ] THAT TENS OF PEOPLE IN AMERICA MIGHT ALSO SUFFER FROM. >> Jimmy: I SEE. SO HE POSTED A PHOTOGRAPH TO INSTAGRAM. >> SURE DID. >> Jimmy: OF YOU WITH GLOVES ON IN THE POOL. BECAUSE YOU DO NOT LIKE THE FEELING OF PRUNY FINGERS. EVEN IF THEY'RE YOUR OWN. >> IT'S MORE THAN THAT. LIKE I SAID, IT IS A MEDICAL CONDITION, YET TO BE DISCOVERED. HERE'S THE THING. WHEN I GO LIKE THIS, I FEEL THE RIDGES LIKE A BASELINE AT A CLUB THAT'S TOO MUCH. AND WHEN THEY'RE WET IT'S LIKE, I'LL PUKE. [ LAUGHTER ] I WILL TRULY PUKE. >> Jimmy: YOU ACTUALLY HAVE A PHYSICAL REACTION? >> I HAVE A PHYSICAL NAUSEA. LIKE I COULD DO -- IF THEY WERE WET, I COULD PROBABLY GET AWAY WITH TOUCHING CEMENT, I COULD GET AWAY WITH TOUCHING MY BATHING SUIT OR ANOTHER PIECE OF SKIN IF IT WASN'T RIDGY. DAK'S ALWAYS IN THE POOL, HE'S LIKE, WHAT'S UP, BABE? I'M LIKE, UGH, DON'T! AFTER 11 YEARS HE KNOWS BETTER. BUT THE KICKER WAS, I CAN FEND HIM OFF IN THE POOL BECAUSE OF MY TRAINING. BUT WHEN WE TAUGHT OUR KIDS TO SWIM, THE PROBLEM ARISES. BECAUSE WHEN YOUR CHILDREN ARE IN THE POOL, YOU NEED TO GRAB THEM BECAUSE THEY'RE LIKE -- ESPECIALLY MY YOUNGEST, LIKE A BULLDOG, SHE'S 6. I NEED TO BE ABLE TO GRAB. THE PROBLEM IS MY VERY SERIOUS MEDICAL CONDITION MAKES ME WANT TO STEP BACK. >> Jimmy: OH. >> AND I DON'T WANT TO GRAB MY KID. MY FRIEND AMY HANSEN SAID, HEY, I FOUND POOL GLOVES FOR YOU. THEY'RE SCUBA GLOVES, THEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO TOUCH ANYBODY. I WAS LIKE, SIGN ME UP! SHE GOT THEM FOR ME FOR MY BIRTHDAY A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. >> Jimmy: NOW WHEN YOU'RE IN THE POOL AND YOU GET OUT OF THE POOL YOU'RE TAN EVERYWHERE EXCEPT YOUR HANDS. >> NO, BECAUSE I WEAR A LOT OF SUNSCREEN. >> Jimmy: I SEE, OKAY, ALL RIGHT. >> I'M NOT ASHAMED BECAUSE IN MY LIFETIME I WANT TO REMOVE THE STIGMA OF THE MAYBE TEN PEOPLE WHO ALSO SUFFER, YOU'RE NOT ALONE. >> Jimmy: THERE IS A STIGMA. >> YOU'RE NOT ALONE. [ CHEERS AND APPLAUSE ] >> Jimmy: THAT'S VERY HEROIC. ACTUALLY, THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE WHO SUFFER FROM THIS CONDITION. IN FACT, NOT ONLY THAT, WE LOOKED -- WE DID SOME RESEARCH. >> YOU DID NOT. >> Jimmy: THEY'RE ACTUALLY A PRESCRIPTION YOU CAN GET FOR THIS. YES, LOOK AT THIS. >> IS IT A CHILL PILL? >> ARE YOU OR SOMEONE YOU LOVE ANXIOUS AROUND SWIMMING POOLS? IS THE FEAR OF SHRIVELED SKIN PREVENTING YOU FROM ENJOYING LIFE? YOU MAY BE SUFFERING FROM PRUNY FINGER PHOBIA. PRUNY FINGERPHOBIA IS A SERIOUS, ANXIETY-FORMING, GAG-INDUCING CONDITION. BUT THERE IS HOPE. POOLGLOVIA. WITH FIVE PROTECTED FINGERS POOLGLOVIA WILL PROTECT YOU FROM THE TRAUMA OF WRINKLED FINGERS AND GET YOU BACK INTO THE WATER AGAIN. CALL YOUR DOCTOR IF YOU EXPERIENCE DIARRHEA, TRIPLE NIPPLES, UNCONTROLLABLE DEATH. DON'T GO OFF THE DEEP END, DIVE IN. ASK YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT PULGLOVIA TODAY. >> AVAILABLE AT WALGREENS. >> Jimmy: I HOPE YOU'RE GETTING PAID FOR THAT. >> YOU LOOK REALLY COOL AND UNIQUE. SO SIGN ME UP. >> Jimmy: THIS IS SOMETHING YOU HIT FROM DAX WHILE YOU WERE DATING? >> OF COURSE. >> Jimmy: WAITED UNTIL YOU WERE MARRIED TO REVEAL IT? >> OF COURSE, I CAN'T LEAD WITH THAT. >> Jimmy: ANYONE ELSE REACH OUT

These two geniuses who know so much medical stuff don't even know the cause of her condition could be vaccine related. But what do i know...i NEVER researched anything on the topic. (Fyi; that was sarcasm)

  • Sarah Miller

With 100% seriousness, I HATE PRUNEY fingers. Hate them! *gags*

  • Alana Kiss

Yes it's horrific! Eugh I hate it, it makes me feel like I'm going to throw up

  • Jessica Jepson

Thats called a sensory disorder. Her vegas nerve is overactive....or something like that

  • JanineBean

Yeah it sounds like a sensory processing disorder, there are many people who are overwhelmed by certain physical sensations, textures, tastes, sounds, or sights because of a processing disorder in their brain

  • winomaster

If you are a stressed personality, any minor disinclination can be expanded into a phobia just by giving in to it early on. People who must fly regularly, may have their anxieties emerge as a fear of flying. Miss Bell may have reacted to wrinkles instead of flying, because she had a belief that in her appearance she must be perfect in every respect. So, it's not exactly unexpected that an actress like Miss Bell would express her anxieties in these appearances issues. But, she might have reacted initially by consciously deciding not to give in to this irrationality. But, I think we know she surrendered and allowed this issue to get worse. She might have delt more effectively with these feelings by immediatly doing yoga, meditation, or breathing exercises. So many people who come across so positively to people, do this because of their obsessive efforts in being liked:. Marilyn Monroe, Johney Carson..the list is endless in show business. I hope Miss Bell meets someone who can explain this to her.

  • Imperfect21Angel

It is actually a medical condition. I have cystic fibrosis and my finger prune fast within seconds. I can’t touch literally anything until they’re dry. The feeling of anything physically puts me in pain because my hands are so tender

  • rachhyx

I share the same condition thing if you call it that as Kristen Bell?? Aahh

  • Cody Coyote

That's kind of like what I have .. but I have sensory processing disorder

  • Ashley Wren

Its definitely a sensory disorder and I hate that feeling too.

  • Amanda Collin

I can swim in a pool but I don’t like my fingers to get wet in the bath tub.

  • Aly J

I HAVE THE SAME THING OMG🤭😖 I absolutely hate anything wet actually haha. Gosh I love K Bell❤️

  • daltonshaneburton

Just saying, I also want to gag when I feel my own wet fingers against my own wet fingers. It’s disgusting and makes my skin crawl

  • me me

Damn when she’s old and wrinkly everywhere she’s gonna be in hell

  • je suis une femme

Why...why am I uncomfortable with fingers now? I feel weird thinking about them wtf Kristen

  • katy Goodwin

I thought I was the only one! Hahaha can't touch anything once I get out of the shower. I hate that feeling ugh!

  • Riley Stoutzenberger

I hate the feeling of pruny fingers and can't touch anything without lotion first in the pool or shower

  • GreenEyedLady84

Yes!!! I hate touching pruney hands!! Finally. I thought I was the only one lol

  • AlPal4554

I absolutely HATE the sight of wrists, and the worst thing is when people bend their hand back, so it’s like a 90 degree angle. I feel so ill, like I’m going to puke! So I’m glad I’m not the only person who has a “medical condition” that others find super strange haha

  • Patty Esme

I relate so much because I can't touch people's knuckles or have people touch mine. I remember one time I had to draw blood from someone's hand and the doctor was there I didn't want to be like no I can't do my job Because knuckles make my whole body feel disgusting so I did it but i was shaking I felt it. I got the blood draw. But it literally affects my day if I touch someone's knuckles. So cool that she shared this.

  • Kristen Butas

Oh I hate prunes hands too...so much so that I dont put my hands under the water much so I can stay in longer.

  • drillercrysti

I absolutely CANNOT touch paper when my hands are wet. It’s nails on a chalkboard to me!

  • Linds Tee

I love how so many ppl are saying she’s so “cute” and “quirky” when basically describing what sounds like ocd. But if someone less charismatic and pretty said the same thing, they’d be told off and called crazy.

  • Ren

I know how she feels. I can't rub my own hands together which makes washing my hands very difficult. Basically I have to use a ton of soap so that my skin doesn't rub together. When I'm cold I can't rub my hands together to warm up. When people want to touch my hands in any way I have to be very careful that our hands don't slide at all. And it's not just when I rub my own hands together or when someone else's hands rub against mine. If someone else is standing next to me and they rub their hands together I physically get goosebumps I really can't stand it just as much as If it where my own hands rubbing together. I get goosebumps from my own hands rubbing together too. It's just the underside of my hand though, the part that has texture. I can rub the backs of my hands together just fine.

  • Nichet Tucker

Seems like a sensory tactile disorder. She very sensitive to how things feel on her hands. It shouldn't be made fun of. It can be very serious for some people.

  • LeftHandShred2

My completely non-professional medical opinion is either OCD or some sort of synesthesia

  • LottieDude95

My mum wouldn't let me or my brother touch her after we had a bath or went swimming, she would just wrap us in a towel quickly and put us down asap! I used to touch her arm just to wind her up, she would always nearly puke just from like a 2 second touch!

KRISTEN BELL PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not making this up I promise, but my hands react the same way as Kristen Bell's. I love going swimming, but I hate it at the same time because of the way m hands react. After I'm done swimming when I have to change back into my clothes it truly is a real struggle because I hate the feeling of the soft clothing. I even have special towels for swimming and showering that I can velcro around the top of my chest so that I don't have to touch the towel, I never even consider baths because If I can limit the amount of water exposer my hands get I do it. I would also just like to point out that Kristen Bell and I have the same birthday!!!!! Ok, that's all I have to say I just want you to know your not alone Kristen, love you!! - Lily <3

  • Erica Nardone

My daughter legit suffers from this.. With hands and feet!

  • A C

OCD and there’s therapy you can do for these sorts of things... it’s an irrational fear they’ve built up in their minds and literally makes them feel sick thinking about it. They can try to break the fear and help them. The gloves were such a great idea! Good friend!

  • Sunnie DIY

Its not undiscovered its OCD I get the same way about sticky stuff. During my kiddos 1st bday she was covered in cake and frosting and she walked over to me and tried to hug me and I actually ran..... I had to force myself to go get her lol.

  • love livi

I literally hate feeling wet fingertip ridges lol this is real for me too! I don't touch anything for like 10 min after finishing dishes.

  • Imani Celestin

My best friend has the strange thing with napkins that I highly doubt anyone else has, so no judgement Kristen. You do you lol.

  • Natalya Martinez

I DIDNT KNOW OTHER PEOPLE FELT THAT WAY ABOUT FINGERS OMG I FEEL THE SAME WAY

  • Shannon Feyhl

Me too, as well as both of my girls. I cannot touch anything dry once my fingers are pruny. The only thing I can do is coat them with lotion first. Microfiber isn't such an issue with me, but for my daughters it is. I wondered if this was a thing, or just us.

  • Amanda Hyde

For some reason I see Kristen Bell everywhere...I’ve seen her like 5 times since I moved to LA and it’s not just like I saw her...it’s like she’s right next to me. Also, it’s been in different neighborhoods around LA. Love her ❤️ and also I saw her mom and talked to her mom briefly :) and also our kids have the same name.

  • Ewww it's Cosso

1:57 Jimmys laugh/jiggle is killing me Someone needs to gif that

  • gymnastdancerstuff

Why is he laughing ... he is so annoying. Like she obviously suffers from it and it’s not a fun thing for her. It seems like some sort of mixture btw OCD and a sensory trigger? Idk but I’m sure she isn’t alone

  • Lex

I can't touch anything paper with like wet or now dried but still wrinkled fingers it has me shiver, like waaah I hate it.

  • Brit Nikkel

I totally get it , I would rather die than touch a popsicle stick

  • J Michael

I know exactly what she means it makes me cringe

  • miss farish

That's better than gag everytime you shake hand with someone.. What even worse is sweaty palm.. Just no.. I just can't stand body fluids, hence i never touch people face, hair, and hug depends..

  • Kristin Collins

I'm the same way but can't touch dry stuff. Like popsicle sticks. Have no idea but it feels like nails on a chalkboard to me! Or I can't touch clothing with dry hands. I go through a lot of lotion!

  • Dani

I HAVE THE EXACT SAME ISSUE!!!!!! Except i can’t touch peoples fingers wet or dry. It makes me vvvvvv uncomfortable

  • Idk Idk

But the thing is does she not wash her hands because of this because getting them wet at all would make them pruney does she still wear the gloves in the shower?

  • Grace LoDolce

I SO relate to this!! I HATE touching anything when my fingers are pruny. I have to clench my fists so I don’t touch anything... putting loads of lotion on my hands IMMEDIATELY after swimming seems to help haha (I feel the same way about my feet)

  • Alexandria B

That's like me when my hands are dry or wrinkly after being in water I REFUSE to touch paper, the feeling makes me want to vomit

  • Jessica Driver

OMG I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT WAS CREEPED OUT BY THE TEXTURE OF WRINKLED SKIN!

  • Kathy Mathy

Touch sensitivity issues can be a symptom of autism, a thyroid issue, synesthesia, or it's own thing. It's not really that big of a deal, and yes stigma needs to be reduced sensory issues.

  • Morgan Ellestad

But the thing is, she wore the gloves ALL THE TIME! So I just thought, "maybe she has a thing about dirt?"

  • Sarah Roudon

I wish they didn’t treat this like such a joke, I get the joke, but this is a real issue
